LED Light Therapy for Anti-Aging and Acne
LED light therapy is a painless, relaxing, non-invasive skin-care treatment that has multiple benefit particularly stimulating collagen and treating acne.
LED treatments work by using an array of bright light-emitting diodes (originally developed by NASA!) that send low-level light energy into the deeper layers of the skin. Red light LED stimulates cellular activity, including the fibroblasts that produce collagen, which gives young skin its plump look. It helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles, treat sun-damage and stretch marks, and reduce redness.

Blue light LED works by killing Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria that lives below the surface of the skin and is responsible for acne.
Both are highly effective when part of a series—usually six treatments one to two weeks apart, followed by a maintenance treatment every month or two. LED treatments last about ten to twenty minutes, and can be a stand-alone treatment or part of a facial. LED treatments are painless and relaxing, and in winter have a side benefit of counteracting seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
The LED Panel I have chosen is the Celluma Panel. I love it! Celluma comes with eight FDA clearances for treating inflammatory acne, wrinkles, arthritis, muscle spasm, muscle and joint pain. It’s a powerful piece that is incredibly easy to use and offers extremely amazing benefits.
There are a few ways I use it in my facial treatments. LED facial includes double cleanse, exfoliation or peel extractions (if necessary) mask, LED for 10- 15 minutes, serum, moisturizer, SPF, hand massage. Each treatment is customized for each client depending on what we will be addressing.
